I am so glad you visited my blog!

I started this blog as an outlet, an escape from reality, and a way to better share my story.

Growing up in a small town, at an even smaller school, I really struggled without anyone my age to connect with about living with Type 1 Diabetes. Of course, I was infinitely thankful for the love and encouragement that I received from my family and close friends, but it didn't change that I felt SO different from nearly everyone around me.

It is human nature to want to hide what makes us different if it isn't necessarily a positive difference.

However, this shame I was feeling didn't always mean the best things for my health. Thankfully, through various experiences in life, I have found myself on a new journey of self-love and empowerment. In order to rid myself of shame, I have decided to call out my differences, rather than hide them away.

I hope that you find my words to be helpful, encouraging, and comforting. I’m glad you’re here.

XOXO
