I am so glad you visited my blog!

I started this blog as an outlet, an escape from reality, and a way to better share my story.

Growing up in the small town of Dalton, GA, at an even smaller school, I really struggled without anyone my age to connect with about living with Type 1 Diabetes. Of course, I was infinitely thankful for the love and encouragement that I received from my family and close friends, but it didn't change that I felt SO different from nearly everyone around me.

It is human nature to want to hide what makes us different if it isn't necessarily a positive difference.

However, this shame I was feeling didn't always mean the best things for my health. Thankfully, through various experiences in college, I have found myself on a new journey of self-love and empowerment. In order to rid myself of shame, I have decided to call out my differences, rather than hide them away.

I am so excited to use this blog to better myself and hopefully encourage others who feel that they are broken, to learn to love themselves too.

THERE IS BEAUTY IN DIFFERENCE AND BEAUTY IN EACH OF YOU.

I love you forever!

XOXO,
TEG
